caja fuerte del fuego*

translation: we are safe from the fire

AKJN had an unprecedented number of phone calls and emails this week questioning our proximity to the current wildfires blazing in Southern Cali.
From Denmark, New York, Palm Beach Gardens (gracias, Pinfers), Media, etc., friends and family touched base to make sure we were ok.

We are absoulutely fine :) We are approximately 341 miles away, but that number doesn't seem like alot, does it? We are hoping the Santa Ana winds die down, and that the weather cooperates next week for all of thoes involved down there.

Thank you so much for the concern....it means the world to akjn :)

My brother in San Diego was packed and ready to evacuate but luckily the call never came, with the fires two years ago the cops came through their neighborhood and gave them 10 minutes to grab what they wanted and leave.
Chris Collins lives in Irvine and one of the fires started across the street from his house. They were evacuated but the house survived and he is back. You guys stay safe in the north!

I think those folks concerned should visit you so they could see the distance between northern and southern California or BUY A MAP

I think anonymous oughta lighten up. It's a big country and when people hear there is trouble in a state where a loved one lives they naturally are concerned. Who pissed in your corn flakes?

Its great that everyone is concerned for akjn, but I agree with anonymous. Clearly, geography is not being well taught these days. Also, we do not eat corn flakes at our house. We eat honey nut cheerios!
