This past Thursday, my friend Julie took me out for a lovely lunch at our fave crepe place, Sweet Peas in Los Gatos. She was sans kids, so it was especailly nice to have a long lunch with lots of yummy coffee. Julie had the afternoon free, so we made a detour on our way home, and stopped at the SAVANNAH-CHANELLE Winery in Saratoga. The best thing is that it is only 5 minutes from our house! The views are spectacular, and it was so wonderfully quiet. The city of Saratoga will not give them zoning to allow weddings or any parties due to their entrance driveway ... it's only one lane going straight up, so there is a large potential for wino accidents. No matter - you can bring a picnic there, buy some wine and their homemade mustard, and set yourself up in several beautiful locations for a panoramic afternoon.
